Posted on: Wed 22 Jun 2011

COVENTRY City's Football in the Community Department has a proud reputation of forging closer links between the Sky Blues and youngsters from Coventry City and Warwickshire.

David BusstManaged by former Coventry City defender and UEFA A Advanced Licenced coach David Busst since 2003, the last four years have seen the Community department revamped hugely to ensure that football is brought to a wider spectrum of people.

The department has also diversified into mult-skills delivery, providing an all-round service to schools and local youngsters.

The main aims of the Community Programme are:

- To encourage more children to become involved in football through playing and watching.

- To encourage groups normally excluded from football (eg. women, ethnic minorities and disabled people) to become more involved with the sport.

- To actively promote Coventry City Football Club in all its aspects, providing links and pathways for children of all abilities to become more involved with the Club.

- To encourage children to lead a healthy lifestyle.
