A BRACE from Gael Bigirimana and one from Billy Daniels handed the Sky Blues Under 18s a 3-0 win over Wolves in their penultimate pre-season friendly.
A quick reaction opener from Daniels was followed by two superb strikes from Bigirimana to set the Sky Blues up ahead of their final pre-season friendly against Everton this Saturday.
City started off the stronger of the two sides and had the better of the opening 20 minutes and despite letting Wolves in as the first half drew to a close, the Sky Blues got their just reward with five minutes of the half to go.
Bigirimana cut inside from the left and beat a defender before hitting a shot which bounced infront of the 'keeper, Daniels reacting first to poke home the opener from close range.
With Luke Bottomer giving Wolves trouble down the right flank it was Bigirimana who turned from provider into scorer to double City's lead just after the hour.
He again cut inside from the left, this time beating three players, his shot cannoning off the post and fallingh to Jonson Harris who set up the midfielder to float his second effort over the head of the 'keeper and into the net from the edge of the area.
Bigirimana then bagged his second with five minutes to go, cutting inside once again before driving an effort into the roof of the net just inside the near post.
Academy manager Gregor Rioch said: "Gael's chip was probably one of the best ever goals I have seen in youth football. It was an absolute dream.
"All of the lads were great both with and without the ball which was really pleasing and I thought generally they were outstanding.
"Wolves were another step up for us so to put in that peformance will serve us well when it gets even tougher against Everton."
