COVENTRY City Football Club would like to extend their congratulations to five academy apprentices who have been offered professional contracts.
Youngsters Nathan Cameron, Michael Quirke, Callum Wilson, Shaun Jeffers and Jordan Clarke have all been offered professional deals extendeding into the 2010/11 season.
Coventry City Academy manager Gregor Ricoh says the hard work now starts all over again.
"The hard work starts all over again for these young poys because the ultimate aim is to convince the manager to offer them deals that extend past the ones they have been offered," Ricoh said.
"They have all worked extremely hard to get to this point and we are very proud of what they have achieved but they all know there is plenty more to fight for yet and we wish them all the best with that."
Fellow second year apprentices Jamie Greenway, Rob Ogleby, Joel Grandison, Jacob Blackwell and Sulieman Leluu have all been informed they are able to speak too other clubs with a view to finding new clubs ahead of the start of the 2010/11 season.
"Some of our boys who we have told we will not be offering contracts to have already had talks with other clubs and while their time with us may have come to an end we would like to think that we have given them a good grounding and good upbringing ahead of their search.
"Our decision in no way means they will not become professional footballers in the future, it very much starts all over for them as well and we wish them the very best of luck with their future careers." |
