COVENTRY City were sent out of the FA Youth Cup at the Ricoh Arena after surrendering a half-time lead and a second half equaliser.
Nathan Cameron gave the Sky Blues the lead after 26 minutes but Leicester levelled a minute after the interval, lead a minute after the hour and then led again with four minutes to go after Shaun Jeffers made it 2-2.
The Sky Blues were very nearly a goal down inside the first three minutes but for some quick reactive defending.
Leicester's Jorrin John almost put the visitors ahead when a stray ball fell into his path only for his shot inside the six yard area to be stopped on the line and gathered by Coventry shotstopper Michael Quirke.
Shaun Jeffers caused considerable problems down the left for the Sky Blues and was only stopped by a stray boot from Ben Milnes who brought down the frontman on the break and earned a talking to from the referee.
Robert Ogleby also posed plenty of questions down the left flank, getting to the byline on 21 minutes and cutting back into the six-yard area only for his delivery to be cleared.
Callum Wilson replicated his teammate's efforts two minutes later although his cutback deflected off a Leicester knee which guided the ball just wide of Leicester 'keeper Robert Ambrusic's far post.
Foxes defenders Cian Bolger and Milnes were required to apply some desperate defending on 25 minutes to deny Ogleby's close range goalbound effort.
But the Sky Blues deserved their lead when Cameron hammered home from seven yards a minute later.
Jacob Blackwell's corner was headed clear as far as Jeffers whose half-volley from 25 yards pinballed in the box and dropped kindly for Cameron who made no mistake.
Jeffers also nearly double the lead with seven minutes of the first half to go, curling a shot just over the bar after breaking away and cutting inside from the left flank.
Leicester were level a minute after the break though when a defensive mix-up allowed Jeffrey Schlupp to bag a fortunate goal when Quirke's attempted clearance from Jamie Greenway's short backpass cannoned off Schlupp, looped up and dropped into the net underneath the crossbar.
Schlupp had a hand in what was nearly a second for Leicester on 54 minutes, breaking away before teeing up Nathan Hicks from distance whose shot flew past the foot of Quirke's post.
But the visitors gained the lead through a second bit of fortune a minute after the hour when John's shot from just inside the Coventry area took a deflection and found the top corner inside Quirke's near post.
The Sky Blues were almost level a minute later when Jamie Greenway's excellent set piece from 25 yards forced a solid save out of Ambrusics who then made a second save from Jordan Clarke's overhead kick from the rebound.
Jeffers then very nearly inadvertently got the Sky Blues level on 68 minutes, his low whipped in cross from the left clipping a Leicester boot and very nearly taking the paint off the foot of Ambrusics' far post.
The Sky Blues got the goal their play deserved though after 79 minutes when Greenway's superb inswinging free-kick from the right flank was nodded home from close range by Jeffers.
Tom Parkes put a shot just two feet over the bar from close range for Leicester two minutes later after hooking a loose ball goalwatrds.
But the visitors proved they had the rub of the green yet again with four minutes to go when Elliott Chamberlain took down a long ball on the edge of the area, moved it forward and then shot with the ball taking a deflection which took the ball over Quyirke and inside the far top corner of the goal to send Leicester through.
