SHOT-STOPPER who caught the eye when representing Whitley Juniors under-10s in a cup final.
Neil has been training with the Sky Blues' first team on a number of occasions, plying his trade alongside established players such as Andy Marshall, Keiren Westwood and former academy player Danny Ireland.

MATTHEW WEST
Date of Birth: 11/03/1990
Place of Birth: Birmingham
Position: Striker
A striker with a deadly finish, Matthew is the under-18s stereotypical fox-in-the-box.
He has been a regular in the reserves, scoring two goals against Birmingham City in the Senior Cup in 06/07 to put the Sky Blues through to the final of the competition.
A long-term back problem kept him out at the start of the season 07/08 season, but he has made reserve team appearances during the 08/09 season.

CURTIS WYNTER

Place of Birth: Birmingham
Position: Defender
FULL-BACK who joined the City Academy at the start of the 07/08 season, Curtis' composure on the ball is his main strength.
Injury restricted his progress after a promising start, but he has since returned to action and is currently in the middle of his second year with the academy.

ASHLEY CAIN

Place of Birth: Nuneaton
Position: Midfielder
LIGHTNING quick right-winger who arrived at the club as a first-year apprentice at the start of the 07/08 campaign.
Ashley has been a permanet fixture for the Academy side this season and has also impressed during a handful of outings for the Reserves.

SEAN FRASER

Position: Midfielder
A combative midfielder, Sean was aregular for the academy in his first season at the club last year.
So much so, that he featured in every single game up until Christmas. He know has a chance to maintain his successful spell to date with the academy in his second year as an apprentice.

JERMAINE GRANDISON
Date of Birth: 15/12/1990
Place of Birth: Birmingham
Position: Defender
FORMIDABLE defender who has made excellent progress since joining the Sky Blues academy last season.
Jermaine was an ever present in the under-18s before suffering an injury in a reserve match against Walsall in January 2007.
He recovered though and played a number of times for the reserves and has also featured as an emergency striker for the under-18s when called upon.

CHRIS HOLLIST

Position: Defender
CHRIS joined the Sky Blues under-18s as a first-year scholar at the start of the 07/08 season.
He has featured predominately as a left-back although he is equally adaptable anywhere across the back-four.

ADAM WALKER

Position: Midfielder
A SKILLFUL prospect and second-year apprentice who was recently awarded with a first-team squad number and place on the bench for City's Carling Cup First Round clash with Aldershot in August 2008.
Adam has been a near ever-present figure in midfield for Gregor Rioch's academy side.

JACOB BLACKWELL

Position: Midfielder
DESPITE joining the club's academy setup at a relatively late stage with only local football experience under his belt, Blackwell impressed City scouts in his final year at school to earn himself a two-year apprenticeship following a pre-season trial last season.

NATHAN CAMERON

Position: Centre Back
SOLID central defender Cameron joined the Coventry City Academy at the tender age of ten years old and is one of the academy's longer serving players.
The Birmingham-born centre-half possesses good aerial ability as well as the ability to spread the ball around the pitch.

JORDAN CLARKE

Position: Right Back
THE Coventy lad is the longest serving member of this year's new apprentices, having spent eight years in the academy setup.
He captained the Under 16 side last season and was also involved in an England training camp the same year.
The latest progression in his quest for a career as a professional received a further boost in the 2008/09 season when he was involved with the first team, earning a place on the bench as an unused substitute for the Sky Blues' ill-fated Carling Cup clash with Newcastle United.

JOEL GRANDISON

Position: Midfield
YOUNGER brother of second-year apprentice Germaine Grandison, Joel exhibits a completely different approach to the game compared to his older sibling but still retains the potential.
The pacy wide player, who is comfortable using both feet, possesses excellent speed and earned a place in the England Under 16 squad that travelled to Holland last season.
He also found himself involved in two reserve team squads last season.

JAMIE GREENWAY

Place of Birth: Nuneaton
Position: Centre Back
Equally comfortable at either centre-half or left-back, Greenway is a very composed defender who is not shy of a tackle.
The Nuneaton-born youngster joined the academy setup in time for inclusion into the Under 9s and, las season, earned starts at Under 18 level despite only being an Under 16.
He has suffered a slow start to this season after undergoing shoulder surgery in the summer but he has shown encouraging signs of a speedy recovery and was included on the bench for the Under 18's 2008/09 season opener against Blackburn.

SHAUN JEFFERS

Position: Striker
THE pacy centre forward prides himself on never giving defenders a moments rest while in possession.
While on the ball he holds it up very well for team mates but also possesses the necessary awareness to make good runs off the ball, proven by his ability to get goals for the academy.
He spent the majority of last season with the Under 16s, featuring in line-ups for the Under 18s.

SULEIMAN LELUU

Position: Midfield
LELUU moved to the UK from Tanzania as a toddler with his family and was eventually snapped up by the Sky Blues as an 11-year-old.
The utility player, comfortable anywhere on the pitch, has gained experience in most positions but started the 2008/09 season as a central midfielder for Gregor Rioch's side although he possesses the necessary skill and strength to also make an impact as a striker, bringing an extra dimension to the Under 18s.

ROBERT OGLEBY

Position: Striker
A NATURAL born athlete, Ogleby could have had a career on the athletics track had it not been for his love of football.
The lightning-quick centre forward is capable of covering 100 metres in less than 11 seconds and has used that pace in the past to beat defenders and develop a fantastic goalscoring record.

CALLUM WILSON

CALLUM Wilson is another of Greg Rioch's frontmen who claims an impressive record infront of goal since joining the academy in June last year.
Wilson has the ability to hold the ball up extremely well and will likely feature on many scoresheets over teh course of the next two seasons.
