The Sky Blues snap up the Spurs Academy graduate in time for the trip to Chesterfield in League One tomorrow...

Coventry City have completed the youth loan signing of Grant Ward from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season, subject to FA and Football League approval.

The 20-year old came through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur and has appeared regularly for their Under-21s side.

Born in Lewisham, Ward can play on the wing or central and he enjoyed a loan spell with Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire this year where he made 23 appearances, scoring one goal.

Ward has trained with the Sky Blues over the past two days and will be eligible for tomorrow's game against Chesterfield at the Proact Stadium.

City boss Tony Mowbray said: "We're delighted to bring Grant into the club at what is a crucial stage in our season.

"Yesterday, I stressed the importance of bringing in new additions to help the squad secure our League One status.

"Grant gives us an important option, bringing a level of versatility to our midfield, and we hope he can provide a valuable impact from now until the end of the season."

Ward will wear the No.8 shirt during his time with the Sky Blues.
