"I wish Steven and Neil all the very best in the new job, after tomorrow's game of course!" - Coventry City's Tony Mowbray

The Sky Blues boss has also praised the 1100 City fans who will be making the long trip north tomorrow to back City...

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray believes the Fleetwood appointment of former City boss Steven Pressley adds 'some extra spice' to tomorrow's game.

The Sky Blues travel to Highbury to face the Cod Army who appointed former Sky Blues boss Steven Pressley this week and will face his former club in his first game.

Pressley was manager of the Sky Blues for 100 games and helped keep City in League One despite suffering a 10 point deduction at the start of the 2013/14 season.

Whilst Mowbray wished Pressley all the best in his new job, but crucially, after tomorrow's game at Highbury.

The City boss said: "Well, I'm a football fan as well and it's one of those quirky things which happen in football and I'm sure it'll be a great occasion.

"It adds a bit of spice to the game, particularly for Steven and Neil, who has joined him up there. I'm sure they're really excited about the game.

"From my point of view, having known Steven and Neil over the years, I wish them all the very best in the job moving forwards after the weekend of course.

"They're good football people who work really hard and I'm sure they'll be given a good reception from our travelling support."

The Sky Blues will be backed by a large travelling support with over 1100 City fans making the 350-mile round trip tomorrow.

Mowbray admitted he is constantly impressed by the large numbers who follow the team all over the country.

He added: "It's massive for us. I think the support which follow the team around the country has always traveled in excellent numbers since I've been here.

"It shows what a big club this is really and I'm sure that is something we can harness tomorrow, and hopefully find a similar performance as we got last season at Fleetwood.

"It's going to be tough of course as they're a good side who've been unlucky in a lot of games already this season.

"However, I don't think we've got we deserved on our recent away games so we need to rectify that situation tomorrow and continue the pressure on the top of the league."
