Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray rued his side's missed chances as the Sky Blues crashed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy against Yeovil Town.
The Sky Blues failed to score against the League Two side at Huish Park despite a host of chances either side of the break.
Jacob Murphy, Ruben Lameiras and Marcus Tudgay all tested the keeper either side of the break before the Glovers won 4-3 on penalties.
Mowbray said: "We dominated much of the game, especially in the first-half and we failed to take the chances we created.
"I don't remember them having a shot in the first-half and we really should have took advantage of that. We didn't and I thought it gave them hope.
"It is really frustrating as we wanted to progress and especially in front of our supporters who have traveled down.
"Ultimately, I thought there was enough experience on the pitch to win the game and ultimately, standing here after the game, there wasn't.
"It was probably just as strong a team we could have put out tonight with the injuries we've got, the players who need a rest and the international call-ups.
"We needed to utilise our squad and it hasn't worked out for us tonight. Ryan Haynes did well to get forward in the first-half and George really impressed when he came on, but ultimately, a disappointing night."
