"It's just as enjoyable as it is at the top end of the game, just a different challenge." - Coventry City's Tony Mowbray

The City boss also believes his players will respond to expectation having maintained a 100% home record this season...

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has admitted he is 'enjoying' his time at the Sky Blues ahead of the game against Southend United.

The Sky Blues welcome the Shrimpers to the Ricoh Arena on Bank Holiday Monday as they look to bounce back from last week's defeat against Walsall.

City have won three games so far this season, against Wigan Athletic, Millwall and Crewe Alexandra which has seen the Sky Blues at the top end of League One.

Mowbray will cross paths with former Hull City manager Phil Brown on Monday and he hopes he's enjoying the experience in the lower leagues like Mowbray is.

The City boss said: "Phil is a good football man. He's managed in the Premier League and had some really good periods in his career.

"He took a decision to take a job lower down the leagues, just as I have. It'll be totally different for Phil as it is for me.

"Sometimes, without the budgets to go and change your players around, bring players in or change the environment, it's just as enjoyable as it is at the top end of the game.

"It's just a different challenge and I'm sure Phil will be enjoying the challenge down at Southend just like I am here."

The Sky Blues are unbeaten at home so far, picking up maximum points in a 2-0 win against Wigan Athletic and a 3-2 win over Crewe Alexandra.

Mowbray admits expectation might now be higher from the home support but he hopes his players can deliver the right performance.

He added: "Our expectation is to go into every game to get the points, you've got to have that mentality for me.

"We'll always be respectful of the opposition and they'll be hard working confident at getting an important result as they've already shown they can.

"We've got to just play our game and try and impose it on them. We hope the supporters will come and they're entertained by a good show.

"It's been very encouraging to see how we've played so far but we've got to just keep rolling on."
