Coventry City left-back Ryan Haynes was delighted to make his full City debut in the 1-1 draw against Brentford at the Ricoh Arena.

With Blair Adams out injured and Jordan Stewart suspended from his red card during the 4-0 defeat at Walsall, Pressley brought the 17-year old into the starting XI.

Haynes, who has impressed in recent Under-21s wins against Birmingham, Derby County and Wigan, played a full 90 minutes against the Bees as City claimed a point.

The Academy product was delighted to make his debut and has thanked the City support for helping him through the experience.

He said: "It was a great experience for me. I never thought I would make my debut this soon but I thought I did well today so I am really happy at the moment.

"I have looked forward to this moment since I was young so it will be something I will never live down. I thought I did well but I think I can defend a bit better so I definitely have a lot to work on.

"I was just really happy when I was coming out of the tunnel. I have to thank the crowd though as they really got behind me and helped me out.

"When they cheered my name at the start, it was great for me and I got through the opening stages because the crowd kept encouraging me.

Haynes is the latest Academy product to make City's first team with Callum Wilson also getting his first start for the club against the Bees.

The left-back continued by acknowledging the efforts of everyone at the Coventry City Academy and thanked them for their support.

He added: "Playing in the Under-21s really helped me as it has got me used to playing in the stadiums which means that you get a full experience.

"I think the whole Under-21 team has put in some really great efforts this season. Our results show that and I am sure you will see more players coming through as it is a determined group.

"Over the years, Greg (Gregor Rioch) and Rich (Richard Stevens) have helped me a lot and helped me all the way.

"I have put in a lot of hard work myself but I have to thank everyone down the Academy for their support."
