The manager is also looking forward to working with Jamie Jones and hopes he can make the "right impact at the club"...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has expressed his delight at the signing of Jamie Jones.

The goalkeeper, who will the number 23 shirt for the Sky Blues, signed on an emergency loan deal from Preston North End after Ryan Allsop returned to Bournemouth.

Pressley revealed that both himself and goalkeeping coach Steve Ogrizovic had been keeping tabs on the keeper and is pleased to sign the 25-year-old who made 179 appearances for Leyton Orient before his spell with the Lilywhites.

"January is not an easy month as I have spoken about before," Pressley said.

"Being a goalkeeper is a position that is often underestimated. If you look at all the top sides its very evident that they have top class goalkeepers.

"I think where we are at this moment in time in the season and our position, one of the most important factors was that we brought someone in with experience and understanding of this level - Jamie ticked those boxes and his name was at the top of the list.

"Steve Ogrizovic did a lot of ground work and he felt, along with myself, that he was the right choice. We're really pleased and we're hopeful that he will make the right impact at the club.

Jones is the third signing the club has made in the January transfer window alongside Frank Nouble and Aaron Martin, who both signed permanently.

But the manager has admitted that there are no imminent moves in or out of the Sky Blues as he looks to find consistency in his team selection.

Pressley continued: "There is nothing imminent at the moment in or out of the club, but as I've said before we have to be creative in this window.

"We managed to get Frank Nouble and Aaron Martin in permanently on the back of Billy Daniels and Jordan Clarke leaving, so we're still in the situation where we are wheeling and dealing.

"Jamie's situation progressed very quickly and we're pleased we got the deal done swiftly. While he is a loan player we are not in a position to go and spend a big chunk of money on a goalkeeper.

"In turn, I think the story of team this season has been the consistency of the side, we haven't had that which we had for a big percentage of last season.

"Again if you look at the top teams like Chelsea, you can name their back four and probably their two midfield players week in week out and now hopefully we can start to build our own stability."
