Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has taken 'full responsibility' his side's performance in the 2-0 defeat to Preston North End.
After a goalless first-half, Lilywhites skipper Tom Clarke put the Preston ahead just after the hour mark when he headed home a Paul Gallagher set-piece.
Five minutes later, Joe Garner converted a penalty to seal the win and to hand the Sky Blues a third successive defeat.
Pressley wants his players to play with more belief and confidence in their ability after the first defeat back at the Ricoh Arena.
The City boss said: "We were lacking in confidence in our performance. We need to show more belief in ourselves and make more we do better in games.
"That stops with me. I've got to find out why that performance happened and get us playing the way we can play.
"We went seven games unbeaten but to lose three games in a row isn't good enough for what we want to do this season.
"I accept that and we've got to turn this around. We've got to show some belief and some hunger to make sure that performance doesn't happen again.
"We need to play better in front of our own fans and I will take responsibility for what they saw today."
Coventry City drop to 14th after the defeat with Preston rising to 6th in the League One and Pressley wants huge improvement for the Crawley Town match next week.
He added: "Preston showed they're a very strong team and they were very physical. They didn't let us settle and didn't let us get it on the floor and play.
"We needed to get the ball into the strikers quicker and we actually changed immediately in the second half.
"It was our best period of the game and it was a poor time to concede because we were on top at that point.
"It needs to improve for Crawley next week and we need to run out of this run. Three straight defeats shouldn't happen at this club and we'll be determined to put this right."
