Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has urged his side to concentrate on their performance ahead of the Peterborough United game tomorrow.

The Sky Blues are on a poor run of form at the moment having lost their last three games in League One, including the 4-1 defeat to Oldham Athletic on Tuesday.

City welcome the Posh to the Ricoh Arena this weekend looking to extend an unbeaten home run over Darren Ferguson's side since 1962.

The City boss believes if his side perform to their best, they will get the result and said he will be looking to find a way in which they can deliver their best performance.

Pressley said: "You can never guarantee results in football but the one thing you must be able to guarantee in a performance. That didn't happen on Tuesday and we need to respond.

"We've got to concentrate on our performance and not the result at the moment. Our performance on Tuesday was not good enough so once we sort out our performances, the result will come.

"If we perform to our best, we will get a result. Formation does matter and we've been looking at all aspects of our play to find the solution.

"It isn't the be all and end all though. We've got to find the way where the players can deliver their absolute best and we've been conceding far too many goals lately, which we've got to stop.

"We've got to get back to the mentality where we don't concede goals as easily as we have been. That is crucial as the amount of goals we've been conceding has given us no chance in games."

The Posh are currently 2nd in the League One table but were beaten by Crewe Alexandra in their last match and Pressley has praised Peterborough's scouting policy.

He added: "They are a really good side that have recruited really well from the non-league system. They've spent some good money down there and they've got a great scouting policy.

"They've picked up some really good players in the system and continue to do that this season. They've started the season really well, picking up some good results.

"They play with three at the back so they're quite an exciting team. A crucial aspect of Peterborough is every time they've been in front, they never lose.

"It'll be a good test for us but again we've got to focus on what we do and make sure we get it right."
