'Arsenal isn't a day-trip' - Pressley

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley may be focused on planning one of the biggest FA Cup shocks in recent years, but he is letting himself get excited before the trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal.

The Sky Blues travel down to North London tomorrow to face the Premier League leaders in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

City made the same journey last season in the League Cup but found themselves on the end of a 6-1 defeat by the Gunners.

However, much has changed at City. Only six players in the match-day squad that day are still at the club, the side are on a great run of form with just one loss in the last 11 matches and they're managed by Steven Pressley.

The Scot has reiterated he doesn't want his side to treat the game as a 'day-trip' but has said these are the arenas players and managers dream of operating in.

Pressley said: "We go into every game with the same mentality. We want to win. The last thing we want to do is go down there, take a few pictures of the stadium, stand in owe of their players and be turned over.

"It isn't a day-trip. It is important we keep our focus and stick to what we have worked hard on in training. At the same time, of course the players will be excited by it.

"I am excited, how can you not be? Your dream is to play in the top stadiums. This should appeal to the appetite of the players in terms of wanting to return in the competition and improve as footballers.

"It will give them a sample of it and hopefully it will drive them on to succeed in the game. We've got players who can play at the highest level so they should see this as an opportunity to test themselves."

Arsenal have only lost three games in the Premier League this season and have won their last five matches with Arsene Wenger's side currently top of the table ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea.

The City boss knows it will be a difficult test but is determined to prevent the 6-1 loss City received last season.

He added: "It was within Mark's (Robins), who did a wonderful job at the club, first few games here so it was always going to be difficult.

"The thing with Arsenal is if you let them get into their stride, they can cut you open at will. If that happens, we'd be in for a very difficult night.

"I hope we can go there with a really good mentality and a real belief that we can get something from the game. It isn't about getting patted on the back and saying we gave a good account of ourselves.

"We want to get a result and the players will be ready to do their best to make sure it happens."
