Sky Blues in the Community running new ten-week programme in conjunction with free football scheme InForm

Sky Blues in the Community’s men’s free football project ‘InForm’ has been taking place in the city since 2011 and now has six sessions taking place every week across Coventry. The project is currently funded by the BIG Lottery Fund and will be part of the city for at least the next four years.

These sessions are aimed at local adult males who are looking to dust off their boots and get active through football. Sky Blues in the Community coaches are on hand every week to guide, encourage and support all participants in adopting healthier lifestyle habits. Participants have the opportunity to attend sessions for up to one year and will be monitored using health checks and fitness tests to see the changes they are making.

With a number of men expressing an interest in wanting to know more about healthy eating and how to incorporate a healthy diet into their day-to-day life, Sky Blues in the Community have teamed up with the Be Active Be Health team in Coventry to run a unique 10 week InForm-OBOL  (One Body One Life) programme for adult men in the City.

This programme is completely free to attend and will involve a series of weekly 1.5 hour sessions focused on healthy eating teamed with participation in football and fitness related activities. All participants will also receive a free body MOT (something that would normally cost around £60 at their local gym), so that they can see firsthand the changes the programme is making.

The InForm-OBOL programme will start on Tuesday 8th April 2014 6:30-8:00pm at Goals Soccer Centre (Centre AT7) for men aged 18+. The programme will run for 10 consecutive weeks with Sky Blues and Be Active coaches providing key advice and support for participants all completely free of charge.
