Sky Blues in the Community have joined forces with the Football Association to deliver an England Talent Identification Programme for Coventry and Warwickshire.

The nationwide scheme will see similar programmes run in 35 towns and cities across the country. The aim of the initiative is to identify talented football players aged 12-16 across a range of disabilities including learning difficulties, partially sighted, blind, deaf, amputee and Cerebral Palsy.

Funded by the FA and supported by the Coventry Sport Network, the scheme kicks off with an England Talent Day, overseen by Sky Blues and FA coaches, which any players between the ages of 12-16 with one of the listed disabilities can attend.

Players attending the talent day then have the opportunity to be selected for a six-week training programme with Sky Blues in the Community's specialist disability coaches. The scheme also offers those talented players a route in to representative teams run by Sky Blues in the Community, local County Football Association regional teams, right up to the England Disability teams.

The initial England Talent Day takes place on Friday 4th March from 5pm to 8pm at the Moathouse Leisure Centre, Coventry (CV2 1DX). If you would like to register a player for the talent day, or to find out more about the programme, please contact Craig White on 024 7678 6349 or email craig.white@ccfc.co.uk.
