The debutant netted at the Ricoh Arena and feels the side should have won the game against the Dale...

Coventry City midfielder Sanmi Odelusi revealed that he enjoyed his Sky Blues debut in the 2-2 draw with Rochdale.

Odelusi, whose loan deal was confirmed today, scored a sumptuous goal where he curled an effort into the bottom corner from 20-yards.

The midfielder admitted that he felt confident on the pitch and believes the side should have won the game against the Dale at the Ricoh Arena.

Odelusi said: "Frank had the ball so I've shouted over to him and I've seen two or three players around me. I've jinked past one and then the other, and I've been taught to caress the ball, so I placed it in the net.

"It's got to be up there with my debut goal for Bolton, I enjoyed that one and loved my goal today.

"It was a good team performance, we weren't as good in the second-half but that's something we can work on in training. We should have won but we have something to improve on.

"I did tire at the end today, but it's the gaffer's decision! I worked my hardest and really enjoyed the game. We are a good team so there is no reason why we can't  progress."

The 21-year old, who lined up with fellow loanee Dominic Samuel for the first time, is eager to show the Sky Blues fans what he is about.

Odelusi is excited by his loan move and believes the players can bring the best out of him in a move which he also admitted is great for his career.

He added: "Obviously I want games and to help the club progress. I will work hard and hopefully I can progress in my career.

"The move is quality for me and exactly what I need.

"I think I can bring power, pace, skills, flair and trickery - and hopefully I can bring the fans some enjoyment too!

"You've got to be confident to play the sport in my opinion and I am confident I can play well for Coventry City.

"I've trained with the boys for three days and they are really great lads on and off the pitch. They have demands on the pitch and it also helps that Dominic is here, having another loanee makes it easier. I hope to keep scoring but don't put too much pressure on me!"
