"There’s been a little bit of banter but all of a sudden no-one likes rugby, apart from me and George Thomas!" Coventry City's Sam Ricketts

The Sky Blues skipper reveals there has been some banter in the dressing room about the Rugby, particularly after the Wales England game...

Coventry City captain Sam Ricketts has admitted that he has been enjoying the Rugby World Cup, in particular Wales' win over England.

Ricketts has had the bragging rights over his team-mates after the Red Dragons' 28-25 win over the English, before they followed it up with another victory over Fiji yesterday.

The skipper revealed that after Welsh win over England, all the English lads claim not watch the Rugby but is expected a lot of them to come out of the woodwork if they win at the weekend!

"We were just toying with England, let them get ten points ahead and then went for it," Ricketts said.

"I perhaps didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to because I couldn’t stop thinking about our game against Bury which was really frustrating me.

"There’s been a little bit of banter but all of a sudden no-one at Ryton likes rugby, apart from me and George Thomas!

"I was trying to get Romain Vincelot into it, who follows it a little bit. Reda Johnson and Marc-Antoine Fortune have got no interest in the French side and I haven’t seen any patriotic England fans this week.

"I’ll wait to see how England do at the weekend and then we’ll see how many come out of the woodwork because at the minute no-one claims to be watching it!"
