Members of the Coventry and Nuneaton Round Tables will carry out charity collections at the Fleetwood Town match

The Sky Blues are also encouraging supporters to don their Christmas Jumpers at the game as City look for back-to-back wins...

There will be a festive feel for the Sky Blues’ fixture with Fleetwood on December 20.

City have cut ticket prices to £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for children for the match and there will be a Christmas atmosphere during the build-up to the game.

Members of Coventry 23 and Nuneaton 136 Round Tables and friends will be carrying out charity collections on the day and will have Santa’s sleighs posted at popular points outside the Ricoh Arena.

Fifty per cent of the money raised by the Round Table will go to local charities while the other half will go towards the Round Table Children’s Wish fund which helps arrange bespoke wishes for children with life threatening illnesses.

Tom Atkins, a past round table member and co-ordinator of the collections, said: “As soon as Coventry City came back to the Ricoh Arena, I wanted to get the Round Table involved with the club around Christmas time and this fixture is the perfect way to do that. The club, who are dear to my heart, have been fantastic in helping with this event.

“I am a Season Ticket holder and many of the Round Table members are fans too. There will be at least 20 of us there on the day collecting money with two Santas stationed by the casino and close to the East Stand.

“We want to raise as much money as we possibly can to help local causes and also to help make the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses come true.”

As well as the Round Table collections, there will be Christmas themed activities in the JSB area of the Family Zone concourse which are being organised by volunteers with help from donations by the Supporters Consultative Group.

The club is also encouraging supporters to don their Christmas jumpers and Mark Hornby, Coventry City’s head of marketing, believes it will be a great occasion.

He said: “We are delighted to be welcoming the Round Table and, as ever, I am sure supporters will be extremely generous in their donations.

“We want to create a really festive atmosphere and hope it will be a great afternoon for all the family – especially with the tickets being just £10, £5 and £1, which I am sure will help just before Christmas.”

To buy tickets for the game, go to www.ccfcshop.co.uk, the CCFC Superstore at the Gallagher Retail Park or call 024 7699 2326.
