City manager wants players to spend more and more time at the Ricoh Arena

Coventry City manager Mark Robins wants his players to begin to enjoy their football ahead of the game against MK Dons.

The Sky Blues trained at the Ricoh today in preparation for tomorrow’s game as Robins looks to increase the amount of involvement the players have at the ground.

In the coming weeks, Robins says he will take a tour around the Arena and look to see whether the players can spend more time at their home ground.

The City boss said: "I think it is important to get the players down at the ground more. With the circumstances around it, we want to spend as much time here as we possibly can.

"Even if it isn't on the pitch itself all the time, you know, just being around the place and getting to know the ground a bit better.

"There are things over a period of time I want to change. We want to try and make it more ours, more Coventry City Football Club.

"There are a lot of good things here. I am going to have a tour of stadium in the coming weeks and have a good look to see if there is anything we can do to change certain things."

Robins will take charge of his fourth Coventry City match when the Sky Blues welcome MK Dons tomorrow night.

With the side looking to build on their first win of the season at Oldham, Robins commented the entire squad have been very open to his new ideas and training methods.

He added: "They have all been very receptive to my way of training and ideas. There haven’t been any negative responses and I wouldn't expect there to be either.

"If there are any negative responses, they won't be here for long. They have got to work and work hard for the club. We have to be serious about our jobs but also have fun doing it as well.

"I think they need to have a smile on their face, which they do at the moment and that is the consequence of getting three points at the weekend. I think the players have now properly introduced themselves to each other since the win.

"There heads are high and you can see a notable change in the squad. Hopefully we can carry that through to the next game and like I say, we have two home games now which is a great opportunity for us to play against two good sides."
