Sky Blues boss confident that the side can get back to winning ways against Rochdale at Spotland tomorrow…
Coventry City manager Steven Pressley believes results in the 2014/15 League One season proves the third tier of English football is 'crazy'.The Sky Blues travel to Spotland after losing for the first time in eight games in midweek, going down 2-1 to Scunthorpe.
However, the City boss believes that there are positives to take into the next game, despite the result.
"We have a really determined group," he said, "they will want to win again on Saturday. I think the manner in which we lost Tuesday is okay, in regards to how much the players gave.
"Sometimes, we won't get the things we deserve but we will always go down fighting.
"We are still progressing really well, even though we were down to ten men we played some lovely stuff for long periods of time. We didn't change the way we played.
"All the results around the league on Tuesday showed just how crazy this league is. Anyone can beat anyone on the day, but we will always fight for everything."
Pressley was quick to highlight the role of suspended Reda Johnson off the field, and says he is still actively involved in all first team matters.
He also gave praise to Ryan Haynes, who has been ever present since breaking into the side, and wants to make sure that the young wing-back remains as relaxed as possible.
He added: "Reda remains involved in all first team matters. He's so important to the rest of the squad, he has still been training at full intensity with the first team and will remain to do so.
"Ryan has been fantastic since being in the team. With such a young raw talent in form it's important to look after him. We want to make sure that he doesn't get mentally strained.
"When the time is right we will give him a rest. We know that we have Danny (Pugh) waiting on the wings, who is a complete professional and fully ready whenever he may be needed."
The Sky Blues face newly-promoted Rochdale who have enjoyed a positive start to life in League One, having scored more than three goals in a game on three separate occasions.
Ahead of tomorrow's trip to Spotland, the Sky Blues boss says he is wary of the threat Keith Hill's side can pose.
He continued: "Rochdale will be another real test. They are the joint top scorers in the division, and will be confident playing at home.
"They are a young fearless team and we need to make sure we are ready for whatever they throw at us."
