City boss Steven Pressley delighted with Sky Blues showing to kick off pre-season training camp in Italy
Coventry City have kicked off their pre-season preparations on the continent with their first training sessions at their camp in Italy.Manager Steven Pressley called the sessions the best he has seen in his time as City boss and called for his players to continue to raise the bar in their first friendly on the continent against AS Roma B this evening.
He said: "I wanted a reaction from the players after the performance against Nuneaton because the aspects that we were looking for at the weekend, the press and the intensity, just were not evident in my opinion.
"I can honestly say though that the players have really responded and from the first moment here in Italy they have put in some fantastic efforts in training, probably the best the that I have seen since I arroved here.
"Pre-season is all about preparing yourself for the start of the season and for tonight's game we will again go for two teams of 45 minutes each to again bring up those levels of fitness."
