‘Pop and crisps’ makes a return for Legends Day

12 February 2016

In memory of the late Jimmy Hill, Coventry City will be offering ‘pop and crisps’ in the Family Zone prior to kick-off against Bury...

The idea of 'pop and crisps’ was made famous by JH back in the 1960s at Highfield Road, where young fans were able to meet the players, get their autographs and enjoy free refreshments.

In homage to the age Jimmy Hill sadly passed, 87 packets of crisps and 87 bottles of pop will be available on Saturday from 1:30pm, on a first come first served basis.

The Family Zone, which is located under blocks 27 and 28 in the North Stand, will also be holding a Jimmy Hill trivia quiz as well as putting on a display of retro playing shirts from the era.

There are plenty of activities that will keep young Sky Blues fans occupied before the afternoon's 3pm kick-off at the Ricoh:

• Arts & Crafts
• Playstation - FIFA 16!
• Music & team news
• Sky Blue Sam’s postbox – send a letter to Sky Blue Sam or a member of the CCFC squad and wait for your reply.
• Keepy Uppy Corner – how many ‘Keepy Uppies’ can you complete for your chance to win a CCFC prize!
• Subbuteo (kindly donated by the London Supporters Club)
• Win a special CCFC match-day experience – just fill in your details with our volunteers by 2:10pm and you could win the chance to watch the Sky Blues squad warm up while sat in the home dugout!
• Table Football
• Glitter tattoos

The JSB Member Gifts for Dribblers, Keepers, Wingers and Strikers have been re-stocked and will be available to collect in the Family Zone.

Visitors to the Family Zone will include Sky Blue Sam, current members of the Sky Blues squad and also some of our former players too, so make sure you visit the Family Zone ahead of kick-off on Legends Day!
