The club legend made his final appearance in the 4-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday 15 years ago and called time on his playing career...

On this day 15-years ago, club legend Steve Ogrizovic made his final appearance for the club and called time on his illustrious playing career.


At the age of 42, Ogrizovic donned the Sky Blues number one jersey for the last time in the 4-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Highfield Road. Gary McAllister scored twice, Ysrael Zuniga and Moustapha Hadji also scored one apiece but the day belonged to the veteran stopper.

After an emotional lap of honour after the full-time whistle, Oggy finished his career with a massive 601 appearances for the club. Players bowed before him after the game on the pitch as staff and fans alike recognised his massive contribution to the club’s history.
