Coventry City defender Matthew Pennington has branded tomorrow night's clash against Leyton Orient as an "important six pointer" and wants to see City build momentum from their three consecutive away victories.
The Sky Blues are currently four points ahead of the O's who sit in the relegation zone despite their victory over Port Vale at the weekend.
The relegation battle is heating up and Pennington is eager to get three points to extend their lead over Orient and also get their first win at home under Tony Mowbray to help start the process of turning the Ricoh into "a fortress."
"Saturday against Peterborough was an important win, particularly with other results," Pennington said.
"I'm not quite sure why we're not getting results at home though. It's hard to put your finger on it, it is strange but we have to replicate our form on the road to try and get more fans back to the Ricoh, which can help create an atmosphere to build a fortress at home.
"It comes down to confidence as we've not won a few games at home but when we get that win it will be massive.
"It is a six pointer tomorrow night and a really important game for us, we need to push them back down and can't give them any confidence or any glimmers of hope.
"The next few games are massive and it's a big week, we definitely have enough to stay up as we've shown in the last few games. We'll be wary of their threats and there is no doubt about it they are a good team, but we just need to worry about ourselves."
Pennington has formed a centre-back partnership with Aaron Martin in recent weeks and the pair have been ever present at the heart of the back-four since Tony Mowbray took charge of the Sky Blues.
The Everton loanee admits he is enjoying his time alongside Martin but doesn't know what will happen regarding his future at the end of the season.
He continued: "I'm enjoying playing alongside Aaron and I'm very happy to be playing centre-back in this league as a young lad. I'm relishing every opportunity to go and impress.
"I'm happy to play right-back of course, but my more natural positron is in the middle and where I want to play in my career.
"All the clips from my games are watched by Everton and Joe Royle watches me to see how I'm getting on so I've got a great link with Everton while I'm here.
"I don't know what will happen with my future but I'm taking it one step at a time, I just want to progress."
