Sky Blues make it five points from nine after tense League One draw at stadium:mk
Coventry City made it three games unbeaten after picking up a point in a goalless stalemate with MK Dons at stadium:mk.
More than 3,000 Sky Blues supporters made the trip to Milton Keynes as boss Steven Pressley named an unchanged line up following his side's 2-2 draw with Barnsley at Sixfields Stadium on Tuesday night.
It was the home side that registered the first effort of the afternoon on target in the first minute when a weak free kick from Ben Reeves was curled over the wall and went straight into the arms of City 'keeper Ryan Allsop.
Josh McQuoid returned the favour on 19 minutes though when a fine flowing move involving Danny Swanson, Ryan Haynes and John Fleck ended with McQuoid turning his man and shooting at goal with Ian McCloughlin making a solid save for Dons.
Dean Bowditch then went close for Karkl Robinson's side on 22 minutes when he flashed an effort across the six-yard box which never troubled the City goal.
He went much closer three minutes later though when he was slipped through to force a point blank save from Allsop and then had his volleyed follow up headed out of the goalmouth and off the line by Reda Johnson.
Allsop foiled Dons again on the half hour when a cheeky back heel from Dele Alli fell into the path of Reeves who was denied by a brave save at his feet by the Sky Blues 'keeper.
City then capped off a finely balanced half when a quick free kick from Jim O'Brien picked out Jordan Clarke to glance a header aimed inside the near post only to see his effort go just wide.
The Sky Blues very nearly took the lead three minutes before the hour when a glorious outside-of-the-foot cross from John Fleck picked out McQuoid whose downward header was denied by the feet of McCloughlin.
Allsop was then required to deny Reeves again after 65 minutes when the striker pulled the trigger from the edge of the area, Allsop parrying the initial effort and then gathering the loose ball.
The two almost went head to head again with 13 minutes to go when George Baldock's whipped in cross found Reeves to head inches over the bar with Allsop at full stretch.
The fourth official then held up for four minutes of additional time during which time it was City who went closest as substitute Simeon Jackson picked up a loose ball and burst into Dons final third before shooting from 20 yards and forcing McLoughlin to turn the ball around his post.
That was the last action of a tesne affair though as the Sky Blues made it five points from their last nine.
