The Sky Blues recorded their fifth win in their last seven games with last-gasp 3-2 win over Crewe Alexandra...

Coventry City Under-18s continued their sensational form at the weekend with a late 3-2 win over Crewe Alexandra.

Following wins over Bolton Wanderers and Brentford, the Sky Blues made it a great week with their with a late 3-2 victory away at the Railwaymen.

Callum Maycock gave City the lead, before Bassala Sambou had his second in as many games just before half-time. The Alex made a second-half comeback and got the game to 2-2 with 15 minutes to play, before Jak Hickman netted a late winner to ensure three points.

The Crewe result means the 18s are in scintillating form, with five wins and just one defeat from the last seven games.

City Under-18s coach Jason Farndon has praised the squad's mentality particularly with the wins away from home but hopes the side can cope with the amount of fixtures coming up.

Farndon said: "In our last game against Crewe it wasn't a great performance but over the past week we've shown great mentality to get two wins from the last two away games.

"We've been really pleased with Konrad Skuza and Bassala Sambou in the last week and both have been stand out performers for us.

"The squad is stretched and this week has shown how important all the squad is going to be with the fixture pile up in the 18s, 21s and with the Birmingham Senior Cup coming up.

"But we've shown good character this week in particular and we want to keep this form going. We ground out the result at Crewe and it's a good mentality to have, let's keep it going."
