PLAYED FOR BOTH
DION DUBLIN
After starting his career as a youngster with Norwich City, it was a move to Cambridge United that really kick-started Dion Dublin's career.
Dublin was also part of a real upsurge at the start of the 1990’s for the club. During his time with U's, he became the first ever goalscorer in a Wembley play-off final as United went up as play-off
winners.
In 1991/92, he played a big part in helping Cambridge to their highest ever finish in the football league, as they finished fifth in the old second division.
But having failed to gain promotion to the top flight, Dublin was sold to Manchester United, and we all know about his time with City between 1994-98!
HEAD-TO-HEAD
There have only ever been five competitive meetings between the two sides, with the Sky Blues edging the head-to-head standings.
City have won three of the clashes with two draws. Cambridge have one win which came the last time the pair met, a 1-0 win in an FA Cup replay back in 1992.
