Mark Marshall lauds City training

The City winger also hopes to have an impact when Peterborough welcome City tomorrow...

Coventry City winger Mark Marshall has revealed he hopes to get on the scoring charts when the Sky Blues travel to London Road against Peterborough United tomorrow.

The 26-year old has made 10 appearances for City this season, having joined the club in February on a free transfer.

Marshall has already claimed three assists for City for Michael Petrasso's goal against Tranmere Rovers, Jordan Clarke's header against Port Vale and Carl Baker's strike against MK Dons.

The winger has been delighted with the impact he has had during his time at the club, but he believes there is still more to come.

Marshall said: "I'm happy with what I've done in games so far even though I know I can do so much more. I would love to score.

"It is the one thing which I'm getting a bit annoyed about at the moment. I like scoring goals of course, but I suppose it is just as important to get assists.

"I've got three assists so far which I'm happy about but I reckon if I can keep playing games, I'd like to score at least three goals in claim five more assists really.

"I've got to set myself a target and work towards it. But I think, at my best, I can do a lot more on the pitch for the team than I'm currently doing."

City manager Steven Pressley has been known for setting high-intensity training sessions for the Sky Blues this season.

The former Barnet man believes the high-intensity sessions are getting the best out of him and he enjoys the instructions from the City boss.

He added: "The way the manager comes across, I like it. The hard work we've got to put in every training session in something you start to look forward to. Every day is a challenge.

"It makes me concentrate more because everything gets highlighted. Football has a lot of pressure. Life has a lot of pressure so if you believe in yourself and your ability, why should you crumble when you're given a bit of pressure.

"The manager is a nice guy. He stamps his authority on situations though which is good because nothing will get out of control.

"He has a direction and a way he wants to manage the side, and as a player, you either buy into it or you don't. I'd like to think I've brought into it."
