Midfielder pens contract with Sky Blues after successful trial period

Coventry City have completed the signing of midfielder Steve Jennings.

The 27-year-old has been on trial with the club and has impressed manager Andy Thorn during that period.

The former Motherwell and Tranmere midfielder has signed a two-year contract with City, awaiting the international agreement, and is the ninth addition to the squad this summer.

Thorn said: “We are really pleased to get Steve on board. We knew he was a good player before he came here and he’s proved that while he has been with us.

“He had a little injury which meant it has taken a bit longer to get it done but we are all delighted that we have been able to complete this deal before the league season starts on Saturday.

“It gives us another option in midfield and it means we’ve got some really good competition in that area of the pitch.”
