Coventry City loanee Jamie Jones admitted that he turned down four other clubs to join the Sky Blues on loan.
The 25-year-old moved to the club from Preston North End where he played 20 times this season, with his last game for the Lilywhites coming in November.
But the goalkeeper revealed that he couldn't turn down a move to the Sky Blues and was delighted to agree a deal.
"Obviously it was getting frustrating for me at Preston," Jones said.
"But to come and sign for such a big club is a pleasure and I couldn't wait to get going.
"A number of clubs after me, four in the end but it was a no brainer to come here and start getting us up the table.
"It's massive when you're down near the bottom, I've had three seasons down the bottom with Orient so hopefully I can bring that level of experience to the team which can get us higher up the division.
"When I was at Orient last season we played Coventry City four times! Coventry was our first defeat of the season at Northampton so I do know the club well, and I've always liked the manager and watched results - so when I got the phonecall it was a pleasure.
"This club should be higher in the league there is no doubt about that and I'm looking forward to the challenge of getting us away from the bottom."
Jones came straight into the City side for the trip to Yeovil Town on Saturday and kept a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw.
The goalkeeper believed the side should have got three points and was pleased with his debut for the Sky Blues, which included a wonderful reaction save to keep the score tied.
Jones continued: "Obviously we got a clean sheet and we aimed for that hoping the four lads up top do their job but unfortunately that didn't happen on the day.
"As a back five we did our job and if we play well as a unit and keep clean sheets there is no doubt we can get up the table.
"We had a good spell in the second-half and we rode their positive spell well. I thought we were going to go on to score the goal, I was always trying to win, getting the ball out to the wingers quickly.
"I've just watched the save upstairs with Oggy and it's a really important save. The penalty miss was unfortunate as Gary slipped, so it was like a goal for them and the momentum changed a little bit, so that save to keep it 0-0 was pleasing on my debut and I hope there is more to come."
