INJURY NEWS: “Key personnel in our team have been unavailable, but there are no fresh injury concerns.” - Coventry City’s Tony Mowbray

Key Sky Blues' players are out with long-term injury but the current squad have a fresh bill of health ahead of the Bury fixture this weekend...

Coventry City boss Tony Mowbray stated he had no fresh injury concerns heading into the weekends Shakers clash.

Mowbray revealed that Martin Lorentzson was out on the grass today, but a doubt remains as to whether he would make the squad for Saturday.

The defender sustained concussion against Port Vale in last Sunday’s 1-1 draw and has been cautious during this weeks training.

“He did the warm-up today.” Mowbray said.

“As he is recovering from concussion issues, he did just a bit of jogging. He’s obviously not injured but we’ve have just got to be conscious of the fact that he took a bad knock to the head.

“We’ll see tomorrow if he is able to train. The physio says if he can come through today without any complaints there is no reason why he can't get back out there and participate in full training.”

The back line has been a problem area for the Sky Blues all season with many of the squads defensive options being ruled out for lengthy spells due to injury.

He added: “Key personnel in our team have been unavailable and it has had an impact on how we play.”

“I think the defence is the one area of the pitch, that hasn’t remained consistent. It’s been difficult to have consistency as a result of injury. Reda started the season so well and powerfully and gave us a real platform to go win and football matches, then he obviously got injured.

“Jordan Willis got injured on early as well. Ben Turner did come in for two or three games and looked a natural replacement for Reda, but he ultimately disappeared as well.

“Aaron Martin also got injured. We have brought some young players in that will hopefully stay fit and grow into how we play and the demands we put on them in training.”
