HEAD TO HEAD: Coventry City look to extend their impressive home record against Peterborough United at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow

24 October 2014

The Sky Blues have never failed to score against the Posh at home, and have won twice as many games as the visitors in the head to head records…

Coventry City face Peterborough United in SkyBet League One tomorrow, and fixtures between these two sides have always produced goals.

City have won eight out of the 15 meetings between the sides, with the Posh winning four. There have been three draws overall, the last of which occurring two years ago: a 2-2 draw in the Championship.

There has never been a 0-0 draw in this fixture and the Sky Blues possess a fantastic home record against the Posh, with the last defeat coming all the way back in 1962. The scoreline on that occasion was 3-1 to Peterborough, the fixture being held in the old Third Division.

The last seven home games for City against the Posh have seen them score two goals on three occasions, three goals on three occasions and four goals once!

That impressive statistic continued last season when on boxing day the Sky Blues recorded an impressive 4-2 win against a side who were aiming for automatic promotion.

With the Posh only winning one of their last four away games, tomorrow promises to be an intriguing affair. With City and Peterborough scoring in nine of their last ten games combined, there is every opportunity of a goal fest at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow.
