City have won two more games than the Robins in the all-time record, aided by the double achieved by the Sky Blues last season…
Coventry City and Bristol City have a very tight head to head record, and this meeting has produced several bizarre score lines over the years.Overall the Sky Blues have won 22 times, with the Robins winning 20. There have been 21 draws, with the first of those being the first ever meeting all the way back in 1920: a 0-0 draw.
Last season saw City do the double over their West Country counterparts for the first time since 1964. A remarkable 5-4 win at Sixfields was followed this February by a 2-1 victory at Ashton Gate, with goals coming from Franck Moussa and Andy Webster.
The Sky Blues have enjoyed a number of high scoring wins over the years. In 1932, City won 6-0 at Highfield Road, but even that was topped, when on the 28th April 1934 City won 9-0! It remains the record win in the history of the football club.
The Sky Blues will be buoyed by the fact that they haven't lost to the Robins in the third tier for 52 years, and City will be hopeful to extend that record at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow.
