Getting to Sixfields

Everything you need to know whether you travel by car, bus, coach or train

The Sixfields Stadium is located on Walter Tull Way, Northampton, NN5 5QA.

The stadium is well sign posted from main roads as you approach Northampton and from Northampton town centre.
Travelling by car

Below are the main routes from Coventry to the Sixfields Stadium if you are travelling by car

Coventry North:

Join the M6 (Southbound) at either Junction 2 or Junction 3. Continue driving south on the M6 until the Catthorpe Interchange when you will join the M1. Once on the M1, continue until Junction 16 for Northampton. From here, turn left (1st exit) on to the A45, and follow signposts for the Sixfields Stadium. At the second roundabout on the A45 turn right (3rd exit), and then left (1st exit) at the next roundabout. The Sixfields Stadium is in front of you.

Coventry East

Join the M6 (Southbound) at Junction 2. Continue driving on this motorway until the Catthorpe Interchange when you join the M1. Once on the M1, drive on until Junction 16 for Northampton. From here, turn left (1st exit) on to the A4500, and follow signposts for the Sixfields Stadium. At the second roundabout on the A4500 turn right (3rd exit), and then at the next roundabout turn left (1st exit). The Sixfields Stadium is in front of you.

Coventry South:

Join the A45 (Southbound) and continue on the A45 until it becomes the M45. Once on the M45, join the M1(Southbound) at Junction 17, leaving this motorway at Junction 16. From here, turn left (1st exit) on to the A45, and follow signposts for the Sixfields Stadium. At the second roundabout on the A45 turn right (3rd exit), and then at the next roundabout turn left (1st exit). The Sixfields Stadium is in front of you.

Coventry West

Join the A45 (Southbound) and continue to the M45. From the M45, join the M1 (Southbound) at Junction 17, leaving the motorway at Junction 16. From here, turn left (1st exit) on to the A4500, and follow signposts for the Sixfields Stadium. At the second roundabout on the A45 turn right (3rd exit), and then left at the next roundabout. The Sixfields Stadium is in front of you.

Elsewhere

Supporters coming from the North of the country are advised to take the M1 to Junction 16 and then the A45, following the signposts for the Sixfields Stadium. At the second roundabout on the A4500 turn right (3rd exit), and then left at the next roundabout (1st exit). The Sixfields Stadium is in front of you.

Fans coming from the South of the country should exit the M1 at Junction 15a and take the exit for the A43 into Northampton. Then take the 2nd exit to the A5123 road- continue on this road for around 2 miles; the Sixfields Stadium will be on your right.



Car Parking

There is car parking available at Sixfields Stadium priced at £4 per car. 

If you are a 2013-2014 Season Ticket holder, this will be reduced to £2 per car.

To book parking, please call 02476992326 or 02476992327. Parking fees can also be paid on the gate at the car parks.

A large car park is located at the top of the hill from the stadium near Tenpin Bowling, and another car park is across the road to the south, just off Edgar Mobbs Way. 

Car Sharing

Car sharing is an initiative the Club would urge all supporters to look into; this not only helps with the cost of travel but also the environment. 


Coach Information

Coach Travel will run from White Street Coach Park in Coventry (CV1 5FX) to Sixfields and will cost £7.50 per person.

Travelling by train

Northampton is on the main line between London and Birmingham, with connections at Coventry and Rugby.

The address for Northampton train station is:
Black Lion Hill
Northampton

The main entrance and exit for Northampton station is via St Andrews Road.

From Coventry station, a journey to Northampton Station normally takes between 32 and 38 minutes with no changes of train. 

Trains between Coventry and Northampton are operated by London Midland- their website is www.londonmidland.com

Please note, Northampton train station is undergoing redevelopment works until late 2013.


Walking from Northampton train station

Northampton train station is a 35-40 minute walk to Sixfields Stadium.

To get to the stadium from the station, firstly turn right onto St James’ Rd (A4500). You should then take the first left onto St James’ Mill Road. You then need to take the first right onto Harvey Reeves Road.  From here, continue onto Edgar Mobbs Way, following this road for around 0.8 miles. You will see the Sixfields Stadium on your right.

Travelling by bus

From Northampton town centre, the following buses run to the Sixfields Stadium or the area around the stadium:

Saturdays:
5, 19, 22, 50, D1, D2, D3

Sundays:
9B, 19, 50, D3

Tuesdays:
5, 19, 22, 50, D1, D2

Wednesdays:
5, 19, 22, 50, D1, D2

You can purchase a day rider ticket for £3.40 which gets you and you get unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses for the whole day.

Please note, bus numbers are liable to change and different timetables may run on bank holidays.
