"I've really enjoyed being with the first-team. Bramall Lane is a great place so great if I'm involved." - Coventry City's George Thomas

The City Academy striker has featured for all three City sides over the past two weeks ahead of the Sheffield United game...

Coventry City striker George Thomas has reflected on a busy couple of weeks after featuring for all three City sides.

The Welsh Under-19 international came off the bench against Preston North End and Scunthorpe United before turning in a Man of the Match performance against Crewe Alexandra in the Under-21s.

Thomas' week was topped off by coming off the bench for the Under-18s at the weekend as Jason Farndon's side recorded a 1-0 win against Birmingham City.

The 18-year old has reflected on his time spent in the first-team, admitting he wished he shot late on against Preston North End, before opting to pass to Jim O'Brien.

Thomas said: "I like to play as much football as I can, whether that be for the first-team, Under-21s or the Under-18s, and always give 100%.

"I think I've done alright recently so when the manager gave me the nod, I was really happy. I was surprised to come on because there was plenty of other options.

"I really enjoyed coming on against Preston but the chance I had ran through my mind for the rest of the weekend. I wish I had pulled the trigger.

"Next time, when I get the opportunity, I'll definitely be shooting. To then come on against Scunthorpe was great as I love playing at the Ricoh Arena as it's great to play in front of the home fans."

The Under-21s won their first game since October with a dominant 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra as Blair Turgott notched a brace and Thomas bagged the final goal of the game.

Thomas also claimed two assists and he admitted it was his best performance of the season, and said he hopes to be involved against Sheffield United at the weekend.

He added: "I would say it was one of my best performances of the season. I really enjoyed it. The team did really well and considering we haven't won many games this season, it was a good win.

"I linked up well with Blair on the day. He's really good with the ball at his feet and he likes to turn outside and run at defenders.

"It was a good day. Dave Hockaday just wanted us to express ourselves on the day and created a really relaxed atmosphere throughout the day which was good for the team.

"We've got another Under-21s game on Thursday which I'm looking forward to but also looking forward to the weekend. Bramall Lane is a great place to go so it would be great if I was involved."
