"I really enjoyed my time at Yeovil Town, now I'm looking to kick on." Coventry City's George Thomas

Thomas reflected on his loan spell at the Glovers and is happy to continue with the 21s in order to give himself more first-team exposure...

Coventry City forward George Thomas admitted he enjoyed himself at Yeovil Town but is eager to keep kicking on with the Sky Blues.

The 18-year old made five appearances for the Glovers in League Two as he gained more important first-team exposure.

After returning to the club last week, Thomas has reflected on his time in Somerset with fondness and wants to keep proving himself in the Under-21s squad in order to catch Tony Mowbray’s eye.

"I really enjoyed myself at Yeovil," Thomas said.

"It’s completely different to here, being away and seeing different ways that things are set up.

"There are differences in the types of football but it was a good experience with different people.

"Obviously getting first team minutes with a different style of play is another good experience for me. They’re a good side unfortunately challenging down the bottom of the league.

"But now I’m back and there are some really talented players in the first-team. I have to play in the 21s to try and get in the manager's eyeline.

"I like the gaffer here, he speaks to everyone regularly on what the situation is. Obviously you never hope for injuries, especially as the team are doing so well but it’s a busy Christmas period, maybe I may get a chance but I’ve got to keep enjoying my football."
