Coventry City have completed the loan extension of Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine until January 4.

The Sky Blues signed the 24-year-old on an initial month's loan deal from the Championship side in October and he has since made four appearances for City.

Madine has scored two goals for the club during his loan spell, including the winning goal in the 1-0 win over Colchester United last Saturday.

City boss Steven Pressley has revealed his delight at the striker's loan extension and has praised Madine's work-ethic since he joined the club.

Pressley said: "We're delighted to be able to extend Gary's stay at the club as we believe we're beginning to see the best of Gary now.

"Over his time at the club, he has really impressed us with his attitude in training and the way he has bought into everything we do at this football club.

"On the pitch, he gives us a valuable outlet and, in the four games thus far, he has two assists and two goals.

"It is going to be a difficult Christmas period and Gary will provide us with a valuable option going into the New Year."

Sheffield Wednesday have retained an immediate 24-hour recall option.
