The City boss and 1987 Legend opened the new club shop and launched the 2015/16 home kit to a busy crowd this morning...

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray and Steve Ogrizovic officially opened the new club shop at Arena Park this morning.

The Sky Blues boss took a break from his busy pre-season schedule, which began on Wednesday, to open the new store and to meet and greet supporters.

Ogrizovic, who played in the 1987 FA Cup final, was also there to share his thoughts on the new 1987-styled kit with the Sky Blue and white stripes with navy blue shorts.

A large crowd turned up to buy the new kit as it flew off the shelves and Mowbray revealed he was the first customer.

The City boss said: "There's a lot to be proud of looking around the store, obviously a lot of hard work has gone into it and I'm sure our fans will appreciate it.

"It's nice to see the branding of your own football club about the place, much like some of the work we've done down the training ground this summer.

"It's great to see so many fans turn up today and I'm sure they're all really excited to get their hands on the new kit.

"I've already got mine before the store opened this morning. I got my kids some kits and some other Coventry clothing and I'm sure they'll love it."

The 2015/16 home kit has been extremely popular since the pre-orders started on Monday as well as strong season ticket sales ahead of the early bird deadline on Sunday, July 5th.

The City boss hopes the 1987-style kit will inspire the current City squad to achieve success in the upcoming season.

He added: "I remember sitting on the floor in my parent's home and we watched that cup final. I still remember that diving header.

"It's a great moment in the club's history and it's part of the reason I'm here. I'm here to build this club up again with the fanbase it already has behind it.

"We do need to reignite that fanbase but that only comes with success on the pitch so hopefully this kit can help inspire us this season.

"The work has already begun and that build up to the new season is already on the way."
