"Being back at Coventry just gives me so much confidence. We're a strong squad." - Coventry City's Gael Bigirimana

The 22-year old played a full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw at Valley Parade, his first start since rejoining the club...

Coventry City midfielder Gael Bigirimana has lauded his City teammates after his first 90 minutes against Bradford City.

The 22-year old started against the Bantams as John Fleck missed the game through a tight hamstring and was praised for his performance after the game by manager Tony Mowbray.

The Newcastle United loanee made several key passes and interceptions for the Sky Blues as City stretch their unbeaten run to ten games in League One.

Bigirimana believes wearing the City shirt once again gave him plenty of confidence during the 0-0 draw and thinks he settled into the side well.

The midfielder said: "For me, it felt like a win in a sense. Bradford are a really good run and we managed to play really well on the night.

"It's a massive point in our season and I'm just really delighted to play my first 90 minutes back at Coventry, and I think I did well.

"Being back at Coventry just gives me so much confidence once again and knowing that I'm wearing the shirt and representing my home city, it means a lot to me.

"I grew in confidence throughout the game and I just did what the manager wants me to do. I had to fit into the system which has got us to the top of the league and I'm sure it'll bring us more success."

The Sky Blues face Doncaster Rovers this weekend with both John Fleck and Bigirimana in contention to start at the Ricoh Arena.

'Bigi' continued by saying the City squad is strong this season and believes City's pace in forward areas means they're a constant threat.

He added: "I'd like to think that my teammates saw that I can do the ugly side as well as supporting the team in attack by keeping the ball and finding the gaps.

"It is a really exciting group of players. There is so much pace in forward areas which gives us plenty of options in attack across the frontline.

"Jacob, Adam and Ryan have a lot of pace which will always be a threat for any side. It's a really strong squad with Fortune and Tudgay as well.

"As long as we all stay fit and keep our focus, there is no reason why this squad can't do well this season."
