'The fans pushed us until the end'

24 January 2014

City midfielder Franck Moussa has praised the incredible Sky Blue Army who made the trip down to the Emirates....

Coventry City midfielder Franck Moussa believes the squad showed ‘heart and desire’ in front of the 5,100 travelling Sky Blue Army, despite losing 4-0 against Arsenal in the FA Cup.

A double from Lukas Podolski, followed by a goal each from Olivier Giroud and Santi Carzorla ensured that the Gunners progressed into the fifth round.

However the Belgian midfielder said the fans helped create a great atmosphere for the tie, which he will not forget.

The City midfielder said: “We showed heart and desire, especially in the second half, against really tough opposition.

“All season the fans have been behind us, and they pushed us to the end, no matter the score.

“They really help us go and win games, however today it wasn’t to be. But we are still so appreciative of all of their support.”

The 24-year old also said that playing against a side at the top of the Premier League will help the Sky Blues for the rest of the season.

He added: “We are all football fans, when you play against top players, the ones you see on television every week playing the best, you can take something from it.

“We can take something from them because they are the elite, and seeing them up close you realise how special they are. But you can take what you see and apply it to your own game.”
