City's newest signing Mark Marshall hopes to help the club have a successful season...

Coventry City's new signing Mark Marshall has revealed he had offers from other clubs, but 'when Coventry comes knocking, you can't turn it down.'

The 26-year old has been training with the squad over the past week where he has impressed City manager Steven Pressley.

Marshall penned a short-term deal with the club until June 3rd, 2014 as he looks to get his career back on track after two years out of the game.

The former Barnet man is delighted to be back in the game and wants to help the club achieve a bright future.

Marshall said: "I'm delighted to join the club and I can't wait until that first moment when I get back on the pitch.

"It is going to be an unbelievable feeling and hopefully I will be able to make an impact at the club.

"It has been difficult to adapt to the tempo and intensity in training. I've never experienced training that intense before but it can only help us as no team in League One will be this prepared.

"That told me that this club are going places and I want to be part of the success here. I'm highly motivated to achieve and hopefully I can do that here."

Marshall is set to go straight into the squad for tomorrow's League One match at Bristol City.

As the club look to use the game to get their play-off challenge back on track, Marshall has revealed his ambition in football matches the club.

He added: "I'm still young and I still have ambition. The ultimate goal is to one day play at the very top of the game.

"There was a few other clubs in for me but my ambitions can be realised at Coventry. When a club like this comes knocking, you can't turn it down.

"With the size, the history and the fans, there wasn't a decision to be made.

"I want to move forward and the club wants to move forward. I need to work hard but I am determined to get into the side and help the club."
