Local business donates £300 for PCUK

A local Coventry business owner has made a massive £300 donation to a Coventry City Football Club employee’s charity bike ride.

G and R scaffolding’s owner Glenn McFall has made the generous contribution to Coventry City corporate sales manager Tynan Scope who will be riding a bike from London to Amsterdam in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

The donation fell upon World Cancer Day, a day organised by UICC renown for providing knowledge and help about Cancer globally.

Glenn, whose company specialises in scaffolding services and temporary roofing, has hit a busy period, but he is pleased that he took the time to donate the money and that it is going to a worthy cause.

“It’s an awful thing to happen to anyone and I’m glad the money is going to a very good cause,” Glenn said.

“We have done some sponsorship with the club in the past, and when I saw this I thought I just had to make a donation that will have an impact.

“Business is booming at the moment but it’s good to put things into perspective. I wish Tynan all the best for his journey because it’s a great charity he is representing.”

Tynan has begun training for the ride which will see him leave from the Matchroom Stadium in London onto the cobbles and canals in Amsterdam.

The mammoth 150 mile trip is split into two days, with the first being a gruelling 90 mile stretch before an overnight ferry and 60 mile cycle on day two.

And Tynan has thanked Glenn for the donation which will spur him while he completes his journey for Prostate Cancer UK.

“Glenn’s donation is absolutely brilliant, and I cannot thank him enough for contributing such a large amount,” Tynan said.

“I am really appreciative to everyone who has donated. It’s a great cause and the money will be well used in combating the disease which effects one in eight men.

“It is actions like Glenn’s that are a real motivation to me while I’m training and he and my other sponsors will all be in my thoughts when I ride.”
