Coventry City defender Dion Kelly-Evans has agreed terms his first professional contract with the club from July 1st.
The 18-year old signed a one-year professional deal with the club he has been with for 12 years.
Dion, from Holbrooks, is predominantly a right-back but has featured in a number of positions for the Under-18s and Under-21s sides this season.
Kelly-Evans, who has also featured on the bench for the first-team during the 2014/15 season, is a lifelong City fan and was handed the number 35 shirt last season.
Academy manager Rich Stevens said: “Dion is a player who will give you 100% all the time.
“It’s great to see a local lad make it as a professional and Dion has worked extremely hard to deservedly earn a deal with his boyhood club.”
Sky Blues Under-18s coach Jason Farndon added: “Dion is a really aggressive defender and has been a key part of the side this season.
“It’s been great working with him on the training ground, he’s such a hard-worker and that hard work will see him go far.
“It is important that Dion realises the hard-work continues ahead of the upcoming season and hopefully he can impress in pre-season and catch the eye of the manager.”
