Midfielder Devon Kelly-Evans agrees terms to sign a one-year professional deal with the club...

Coventry City midfielder Devon Kelly-Evans has agreed terms to sign a one-year professional deal with the club from July 1st.

Devon, who has been at the club for 12-years, is a lifelong City fan having grown up in Holbrooks.

The 18-year old had an impressive 2014/15 season, where he played in every position for the Under-18s side apart from goalkeeper and as a result was handed the number 39 shirt.

Kelly-Evans impressed during last summer and played 90 minutes for the first-team in the 2-1 friendly defeat at Stevenage.

Academy manager Rich Stevens said: “Devon is a player with a never-say-die attitude and a player who will give you everything.

“It’s great to see a lifelong fan fulfil their dream and hopefully Devon can make an impact around the first-team next season.”

Sky Blues Under-18s coach Jason Farndon added: “Devon has been extremely versatile, playing in every single position this year apart from in goal.

“He hasn’t moaned once and has shown great commitment to the cause. Hopefully Devon can kick on and get some game time in pre-season, much like he did last summer.

“Devon’s preferred position is as a left-midfield player, but his versatility and application will help him in his progression during his first year as a professional footballer.”
