Coventry City Professional Development Coach Dave Hockaday believed the Sky Blues should have taken three points as they were defeated 2-1 by Nottingham Forest in Nottingham.

Jack Finch scored in the second-half as City came back in the second period as the dominant side.

But the Sky Blues couldn't make their chances pay and Hockaday is adamant that the side didn't deserve the result that the excellent second-half merited.

"The first-half was OK, I wasn't displeased with the first-half," Hockaday said.

"Two 50-yard straight balls killed us for the two goals, but in the second-half that didn't happen again.

"There were a few home truths at half-time, but it is all about learning. They took on board those moments from the first-half and we really came to grips with what they were about.

"The response was excellent, their keeper has pulled off some great saves, there was a clear handball which should have been a red card for their player but that is life. We really should have come away with the three points."

The Sky Blues' goal was a wonderfully worked move, which started from the back and resulted in George Thomas bringing the ball down majestically in the box and cutting it back to Jack Finch who hit a beautiful effort into the right corner.

Hockaday was delighted with the goal and says he can have no complaints with his players' work ethic and desire to win throughout the 90 minutes.

He continued: "Our goal was excellent, there were lots of people involved, it was a really nice flowing move and it was what we were all about. We got it moving from side-to-side and caused them so many problems.

"Jack's hit a great strike and it's great for him to get match minutes ahead of our busy schedule.

"I've got to be happy as we have come to a strong Nottingham Forest side with a full development squad and we should've won the game."
