The Sky Blues' FA Cup winner was a trainee for the Spireites and is one of three players featured from days gone by…

Coventry City take on Chesterfield in a SkyBet League One game at the Proact Stadium tomorrow and there have been numerous connections between the two clubs in their histories.

We will profile three players who have donned both jerseys, starting with an FA Cup winner in 1987 who has arguably the most famous picture from an FA Cup Final ever...

KEITH HOUCHEN

Arguably the most significant player in the Sky Blues’ history, Houchen started his career as a trainee with Chesterfield. He didn’t earn a professional contract there, but we all know how his career would pan out, becoming a City legend as he scored the famous headed goal to equalise in the FA Cup final.

FRANK MOUSSA

While at Leicester City, Moussa was loaned to the Proact Stadium in 2012 where he made an impressive impact with the Spireites. He made 11 starts and scored four goals, before returning to the Foxes. Moussa then joined City where he found his best form last campaign, scoring 14 goals including screamers against Preston, Leyton Orient and Port Vale.

GARY MADINE

On loan at both clubs, Madine travelled to the Sky Blues at the end of last year, scoring four times including winners at Colchester and Port Vale.

He was on loan at Chesterfield in 2011 before he broke into the Sheffield Wednesday team, playing four times as he was loaned out from Carlisle in order to get first team football. He did not score for the Spireites, but soon made an impact at his next club Sheffield Wednesday when he scored 19 goals in League One as the Owls gained promotion to the Second Tier.
