Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has admitted he is looking to 'tie' Ruben Lameiras down on a permanent deal.

The 20-year old came on in the second-half of the 2-1 friendly defeat against Portsmouth and showed some neat touches for the Sky Blues.

Mowbray believes the former Tottenham Hotspur youth player made 'a difference' at Havant and Waterlooville and has been impressed with the trialist.

The City boss said: "When we brought him on, I think he made a big difference.

"He showed some good touches and always wanted to get on the ball. He has a good first touch and turn, and was definitely a threat for us.

"He's goal-bound shot was well blocked and I've been generally impressed with what I saw from him.

"I like his attitude in training and I think over the coming days, we'll look to tie him down on a deal."
