Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray believes that the Sky Blues have to put their recent home form behind them and get the points they need at the Ricoh Arena to guarantee them League One Safety.City drew 0-0 with Notts County at Meadow Lane this afternoon and the Sky Blues boss felt that it was important to get something from a game against a fellow team near the League One relegation zone.
The Sky Blues play Colchester next at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday and Mowbray is already targeting points from that game after a tough 90 minutes in Nottingham.
"We could have got three points today," he said. "But we could also have lost. We had some chances and built up good periods of pressure, especially at the start of the second half.
"You hope that you can score in those moments, but it wasn't to be today. However it is important to get something from these games when they are so tremendously tight.
"We have to apply some craft to our hard work and there's now two extremely important games at home. We need to put our bad home form behind us.
"We can push clear if we win them. 10 points out of 12 away from home in the last four away games is some going."
Nick Proschwitz and Simeon Jackson started the match up front for City and the changed strike partnership impressed Mowbray with their hard work and feels they will be better from playing the game.
Mowbray also stated that he did not see the penalty claim when Frank Nouble was pulled back in the area but was not bitter about the decision given by referee Paul Hart.
He continued: "We've and injuries, Dominic Samuel being out is a massive blow and Marcus Tudgay has been instrumental in how we play, at least since I've been here.
"The two lads worked really well up front and the goals will come. They will be better having played that match.
"I didn't see the penalty claim, I was sat down in the dugout with people in front of me. Everyone on the bench jumped up and thought it was a penalty.
"It doesn't matter, it's gone now and you're not going to get it given now. That's football and Saturday we have another big game to win."
