Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray believes that people shouldn't "jump the gun" by saying that the 0-0 draw against Bristol City has earned the Sky Blues safety.
The draw against the Sky Bet League One champions took City up to 15th place and five points above the relegation zone with just two games left to play.
But Mowbray believes that his side still need a result against Crewe at the Ricoh Arena to ensure safety before the Crawley clash in two weeks time.
"I think you need to be careful about jumping any guns," Mowbray said.
"It's a bit like Bristol City today who needed a point despite having a +15 goal difference, you still have to make it certain.
"We've got a good opportunity to secure survival against Crewe next Saturday. It's not over but the lads can be very pleased with a point against the best team in the league."
Despite securing what looked like an unlikely result at Ashton Gate, Mowbray believes that it wasn't a surprise that the Sky Blues took something from the game.
They could have won the match as well after Nick Prowschwitz went inches away from netting a winner in the last minute with a shot that flew past the post.
The City boss believes that the players will be disappointed not to take all three points against the champions but was pleased with the Sky Blues for keeping their fourth consecutive clean sheet on the road.
He added: "It shouldn't be a surprise as we've been pretty good away from home still, we're still unbeaten away from home with three wins and two draws.
"The lads will be disappointed they didn't nick the game as we had good opportunities. It was a difficult game for Bristol City today with the emotion surrounding their occasion but we had to concentrate on our job.
"We did look as though we could have nicked it in the dying moments, people will look and say it was a boring 0-0 but it was a really good game with two teams playing different styles. It's our fourth consecutive clean sheet away from home and it's relative success.
"Tactically it was an excellent battle and we look forward to taking the positives into the Crewe game on Saturday."
